 Subwoofer and hertz

Ok this might sound like a stupid ? but here it goes: A subwoofer such as any brand has a hertz of 18-100 or 20-125 hertz. Now my ? is that when play your subwoofer down to 30-40 hertz would that kill the sub or wil it play louder continousely with no problem. Currently im running two 10inch kicker comp in seperate sealed boxes and useing a performance teknique crossover that a is about half way up and tune to 70hrtz.

Um 30 to 40/50 hz is the golden area for subs. They are optimized in most cases to play almost exclusivey in those frequencies. Most people will set their sub sonic at 35 ish and their Low Pass at 60 to 80 hz. As long as your gains are set right you can play in that range fine. If you are talking about straight tones.. well playing a tone for too long on a sub is no good. Tones aren't dynamic and send a lot more power to the subs. But if we are talking about music then yea don't worry about it.

 best subwoofer ever

The M 12 UNLIMITED and M 15 UNLIMITED subwoofers are designed for true SPL competitors. The M 12 UNLIMITED and M 15 UNLIMITED offer the ability to choose the moving assembly which is most appropriate for the overall system design and conditions, achieving maximum SPL in every competition. The innovative RMA, Removable Moving Assembly, provides the ability to replace the entire mobile assembly in few seconds, without removing the speaker from its mounting position. For each configuration you can choose the mobile assembly which is most effective, differing in the number of spiders, cone material and voice coil impedance. The SPL Monster subwoofers will undergo continued modifications and upgrades, thanks to our ongoing research and the feedback we welcome from the competition field!
