Now now lp. At least give some advice. Does the prime line of rf even put out rated under 14.4 volts? And @ op I would get one brz15d2 if the aren't discontinued yet.

If you spend around $200 you can get a much better driver and believe me you will be much much happier in the long run.

Don't let the 500 watt rating fool you. that sub will take a lot more power using good common sense with the gain.

Another fantastic driver that will easily handle that amp.

a 75$ sub means nothing to us. Give us a product name lol. And if you don't want to hit that hard then you probably don't want anything lp posted or even the brz. Try Dayton woofers. Your going to have to set the gain super low but it will sound great.

You're looking at this the wrong way. Kinda like Sin said. Keeping the gains lower is ideal IMO. Having an amp more powerful than a driver can take is ideal in my world. When you keep the gains lower you only use the cleanest part of the amp. And once again like Sin said the dayton subs are great but will be about $150 and worth every penny.

I have seen that alot of newer amps may use more power at rated but the THD is the lowest at it's 4ohm(or highest) rated output. Check out focals symmetry line

specs 250w x 1 @4ohm, 500w x 1 @2ohm, 1000w x 1 @1ohm. If you need bass for $100 NOW then start small get one sub and run it @500w @2ohm. It will be cheaper for you and you will have some $$ for wiring and a box. And you will have the option to upgrade later when you do get the $$. cause 1000w and you might want to think about an extra, small battery(or a good one up front) to back up that power!

Its interesting how the technology is changing, but I havent been in the game long enough to have heard alot of the earlier equiptment to compare to todays goodies. which leads me to kind of hijack this link for a moment while i have your attention if i may...

I found a PPI sedona series 580.2 a/b amp and was wondering if it was worth the $135 the pawn shop wants. 160w x 2 @ 4ohm, 290w x 2 @ 2ohm.Looking to run it to a set of boston pro60se (spz60 if i can gather the $$). The real Q's are 1) If i keep the gain turned down will the speakers handle the power (appx 225w @ 3ohm), and 2) will it be at a low THD or will there be more. The amp isnt old but it is a class a/b, so im wondering if it follows the old skool rules or not.
