2010 chevy malibu
hello,
im trying to install my subs and amp to work off the factory unit.
i used the 35 watt converter to get power from the rear speakers, but for some reason, i'm not getting any sound from the subs.
i've installed like this before, and had no issues.
anyone know if i'm doing something wrong, or did i miss a step?
any help is much appreciated!

are you positive the LOC is good and correctly installed? what about rca and is the amp even turning on? did you run a remote? break it all down into step by step and recheck it...

Brand new amp turns on but has no sound = Signal issue. For my info: What is "the" converter. That statement makes no sense to me.

here we go... he knows it all but is asking for help...Speakers receive AC power as well, that's what makes the speaker move....... as a signal...if the wires to the convertor are incorrect then they are incorrect..and I didnt see anyone say "power" anywhere at all btw...

I'm just sayin. the loc goes to the rcas, so what your getting from the rear speakers is signal. yes, I know it's just
an obnoxious correction of the words, but I promise I'm really just trying to help.

sorry, the module. i have the signal from the speakers wired into the module, power going to the module and the amp. the amp does turn on, but has no signal to the subs.
i was told by a gm tech that these cars have individual amplifiers to the speakers from the factory radio, and that the signal is strongest, coming off the head unit. wire it there?
i've installed subs this way in the past, with no issues, but can't seem to figure out why it won't work in this car.
module bad?
thanks for the help guys.

HUH. When I put an system in my brother in-laws infiniti I first probed the LOC to the wires coming out of the stock amp in the spare tire well but, I didn't get any sound.the diagram said those wires were the right ones that go to the rear speakers.
So then i hooked it up right next to the speakers and it works.the wires were a different color then by the amp so there must have been something i was missing.
