 ***car stereo and USB problems***

Hello, I have a lexar 16gb usb flash drive along with a sony dsx-s100 car stereo. i have put files on the usb drive in this order-- artist->album->song. i have mixed mp3 and m4a files. i tested both of the files and they both play fine. the problem is when i plug the usb into the stereo, i only get about 1/4 th of the artist that are actually in the artist folder. i am also missing a playlist folder also. what can i do to get all the artist to show up on the stereo??

reformat the thumbdrive to fat32 and use the standard file folder structure ( it should also be in the manual )
