@alpine CDA-117, CD skip issue fixed?

the alpine CDA-117 is at the top of my HU list. I have read extensively where the CD players have had issues skipping / pausing on regular basis. This seems to be about a year ago from the articles I've read and supposedly the ones shipped after fall '10 are OK. can anyone confirm or deny this? thanks in advance

thanks for the info- how do you like it? i just bought a new car and NEED a system upgrade. i have bought Pioneer for the last 14 years but the new ones are really dumbed down and lost basic fundamental functionality. the parametric EQ and Q settings are gone- and the new joystick "master" control is really poor and fragile. they deleted the dam station preset buttons too. not everyone bases their musical existences off of i-pods and digital media files. pioneer really blew it for me- too bad.

It sounds great! The downside is when playing mp3's they are not in the same order as the mp3 player, but finding the sons is easy. The other downside is that you need the Imprint to run active, and the volume knob can come off semi easy(as will almost any knob). Other than that is easy to use and sounds crystal clear. I would only upgrade to a P99 from pioneer from here
