lanzar's specs indicate small sealed, but I think that was mainly in an effort to make them easy to sell to people that don't want to give up much space. Although I'm sure sealed would work well.

I have two of them. One's in my car, and one I used for a home theater sub build.

They modeled well for me ported, and pretty big.
In the car I went with 2.7 net tuned to about 28. If I did it again I would probably have tuned a little higher in a slightly smaller box.

In the house I went with about 4cf tuned to 25hz IIRC.

The home sub is only on 500w and sounds awesome to me.
The car sub is on 1000w rms. I like it there too, just not as impressive as in the house.

I attribute it just to acoustics of the car vs home.
