2005 silverado has me stumped... help please!

New to the community :)... Hey guys so I installed a used stereo and a new amplifier in my friends truck. Easy the cables were already there from the previous owner. He just got the truck. So.... Here is were my problem lies. I couldn't get the subs going. I thought it was the amp then I tested another amplifier and still nothing. Both amps have power and were not flipping to the protection mode. Also there was no noise coming from the subs when I was connection them. The little Buzz or thud they do when you hook them up. I thought maybe it was the 2 channel line input converter so I hooked up the RCA directly to the stereo and nothin.... A few weeks ago when I first installed the subs I used a Old amp just to test it and they worked. Since then he and his friend hooked up another amp. And it didn't work. So he came back to me.. now I'm stuck... Is it the stereo? But the 2 channel line input also didn't seem to send a signal to either of the amps.... And the stereo didn't seem to send a signal to either of the amps too.... So I'm stuck could it be the stereo?

try the mp3 test Take an mp3 player and use a 1/8"-RCA cable to run it into the amp My guess would either be bad RCAs, Bad RCAs, or bad output on the headunit Also, have you checked the wiring inside the sub box to make sure there isnt a loose wire?
