 What amp fuses to use?

I'm doing a proper re-wiring of my system and I am confused on what amp fuses to use. I'm running 0 gauge from batt. to dist. block which changes to 4 gauge to the amp. The dist. block is fused with 80 amp mini anl fuses. I think 120 is the max when changing from 0 to 4 but I'm not sure if the 80 amp is too low. (amp has 2 70 amp fuses) I also need to install a fuse at the battery (0 gauge) but I'm unsure about the amperage. I have a Duralast (planning on getting a Shuriken) and 1 500watt amp powering 2 12"s and I'm planning on adding another 300watt amp to power a single 12". I'm also going to add a bass processor to the system. I recently bought a 250amp alt. and am in the process of upgrading the big 3 to 0 gauge. When upgrading the big 3 do I need to fuse the alt. to batt.? I bought an 300amp anl fuse and holder for that but I'm not sure if it's necessary now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

for the 0 gauge wire you want to use 200-250 amp fusing ( the fuse is just to protect the wire but if shorter than 20 foot long it will support 300 amps in bursts)

4 gauge can handle 120-175 amps depending on if it is cca or pure copper ;)

for 800 watts of RMS power 80 amps is sufficient on the fuses..but 120 is ideal ... you fuse to the wire not the amp ;) the amp has its own fuses to protect itself, the fuses in the wire are just to protect the wire from shorts or from pulling more current than the wire can handle.

hope that answers your question?

Since the Kenwoods have internal fuses protecting them, the fuses that you are adding are there to protect the wires running from the battery to the amps, and also to protect the battery itself in case of a short circuit. They do not need to be identical to the Kenwood fuses. They can be larger, and the size is dependent on the size of your wire.
