what are the useable dementions under the back seat? What kind of a budget are you looking at? do you have an after market radio that has a sub output and do you plan to upgrade the factory speakers?

right now I have a alpine cda 9856 hu , a sony gtx 6040 amp, infinity Kappa 4x6 speakers in the dash and a 10 in pioneer sub in the back .one of the infinitys have blown , I have a set of pioneer 4x6s to replace them, for space under the seat its 33inches wide 18inche s back to front and 4 from the floor to the bottom of the seat .As far as budget I guess you get what you pay for , I thought worse case buy it a piec at a time . I dont want to put thousands of dollars in something that will get beat around ,but i want something decent thanks

4inches is tight, man my mid range speakers are almost 4 inches deep, you are going to have to find a shallow mount sub, look into kicker, they have a semi shallow mount that may fit, their are quite a few shallow mount subs out i saw one by memphis audio that was real nice looking, and i estimate the space to around .75cuft internal air space after using .75in mdf. so only one 10" is going to fit a box that will fit the space you have available. was this any help...

you bet, this place i a bit dead lately. its hard to say what is enough, my dad has an old cj5 he mobs around in and we did some speakers in it but its topless and hard to hear much of anything over the flowmasters. you may just have to play with it and decide your self if 6x9"s are needed. just know that the lower the frequency is the less directional the sound is and the higher it is the more directional it becomes. like a light and a lazer, the lazer is higher frequency and more direct line of site where the regular light though direct not as direct as the lazer, same comcept goes for audio. you want your high frequencies like tweeters to point at you where your low end mainly bass can come from almost anywhere and sound right. hope that this helps you decide on your locations. with my dads jeep we compermised optimum locations for weather proofing locations via under seats but all we fit were some mids in the dash and under the seat and results were poor to say the least but it works....
