What is the best Car MP3/CD player for under $500?
I'm looking for something that I can be proud to show off in my car.. Something that looks sweet, is easy to use while driving, and excellent sound quality. I don't intend to hook up a TV in the car anytime soon, but I already have some amps and subs ready to go in. Please... Give me some suggestions...

Best looking stereos
Hey,
Honestly, I think that having a good looking stereo all depends on the look of the stereo and how it really fits with the rest of your dash. You don't want yellow dash lighting with a blue stereo look, Although some contrast makes up a good look. Personally, I think that the Alpine CDA-7893 is universal and looks good with anything, with its's silver trim and blue LED's.

Best car mp3/cd
Why not try BestBuy to look for that?
I went their and found a pretty good system,
kenwood headunit with wireless remote, satelite sirius radio ready with a 200watt kenwood amp for about $400 installed. Good luck.

under $500 can get you a LOt if you know where to look. Last week i hopped on ebay, did a bit of browsing, and ended up purchasing a Clarion DXZ835MP for $250 plus the shipping and handling. Its one hell of a kick ass head in my opinion. And normally it retails for anywhere between $400-$500. So just be sure whatever you choose to do go look on ebay before buying it at an overpriced audio shop.

well, it might not be the best but i love it. I used the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X959. Bad-ass for me. OEL Displays would really look good in your car. You can even upload your own personal pics/short movies into the unit. I got mine for $349; gotta love those military discounts. I can hook you up with one if you guys want. The military stores really give us big discounts on kenwood and pioneer products. good luck

IMO
Well first of all, how much are you wanting to spend?
My choices:
1. Eclipse (any; they have high volt outputs, great quality)
2. Clarion DX835MP is a great bang for the buck
3. Pioneer has slow load speeds on mp3's and you can get Clarion for the same price.
4. Try some of the new Sony's (the CDX-MP80 has that "cool look" with 7 different display colors)

yea Porgy, word up! Clarion! I got mine brand new for $260 w/ shipping. I know this is a damn good deck SQ, looks better than Alpine. I prefer Clarion over Alpine. Bang for the buck. Alpine just cost too much.
