now i have been to many car audio places. Ihave heard sealed is better for trunks of cars. yet i have heard ported is better cause it will be louder. yet i have heard the same thing about sealed if anyone can hel me with this that would be great. thank you

it all depends on what sound you want. a sealed enclosure is for ultimate sound quality. it will deliver tight, punchy bass. great for rock, country, etc. music. ported/vented enclosures are for ultimate bass. they also give you great sound quality, but a lot deeper than the sealed enclosure. for a sealed enclosure to hit as hard as a ported one, it would take double the power of the sealed enclosure. there is no such thing as a sealed enclosure sounding better in a trunk over a ported enclosure. what i think they meant was that a ported enclosure would sound better in an open area (suv, van) over a sealed trunk.
