 questions on sub enclosure

i am wanting to make a custom display for 2 kicker compVR 15's. the display will most likely go in the spare wheel well of the car. i have been looking at a bunch of displays made by other people. is the best way to make a display, to make a wooden frame for the subs/amps and then somehow make a smooth surface out of fiberglass? i am very new to fiberglassing so if you could point me in the right direction it would be a great help, thanks!

the best way to attack any kind of glas is to make a wooden baffle for the driver(s), dowel it into the desired space, then build around it. Trying to get glas smooth and level enough to attach and seal a woofer to is not very productive.

Do a search on the internet for fiberglass subwoofer enclosures and you will find plenty of examples and tutorials. There is too much information to post here.

Fiberglassing is not that difficult to do. Once you learn the basics, it's ust you and your creative side. Do a search on a few forums for fiberglass tutorials and also definately look into the dvd series here: http://www.glassmanscustomforum.com/howtodvdsCSCOM.html?referrer=CSCOM

What vehicle is the enclosure for - Make & Year?

Here's a few options for foundations used...

Basic MDF Foundation

4 Sub MDF Foundation

Molded Fiberglass Foundation
