Install Details
Installer:
Jefferson Bryant, Kyle Ambrose
Equipment:
2 Crossfire P1 15" subs, Crossfire BMF1000d aub amp, Kenwood KDC-959 head unit, Music Keg, MB Quart Premium 5.25 components.
Description:
I wish I had more pics of this ride, but I don't. I built this for my friend, Kyle Ambrose. The subs were built into the back of the extended cab. I built a port out of 3\8" plexi that I had frosted using my DA sander and some 180 grit. I used cardboard to fill the gaps between the box and the sidewalls of the truck, I then covered that with duraglass. once cured, I popped it out, smoothed it and popped it back in. I mounted the amp to the face of the box and used duraglass to build the end caps

That is similar to what I want to do in my truck, except I want to integrate my amp, cap and two 5 1/4's into it as well. Very nice job on the fiberglass! I gave you very high ratings bro. Good job!

Why you are competing against a lower caliber install is beyond me. It's like looking at an Enzo next to an Escort. Your install is very subtle, yet elegant and I'm willing to bet those subs hit. Great choice in amplification, though I must admit I'm not

It took about 35 hours for the enclosure, about 3 hours for the covers.

That looks great. Howlong did it take to make the f.g. enclosure? I would like to learn more about the fiberglass enclosure myself....at some point. Nice job!

with the box ands the cover upholstered in ultra-leather vinyl, it doesn't rattle at all.

I used 3M velcro. I built the covers with the velcro in place (taped over of course) so that the cover would fit flush and will remove easily for tuning and such.

How did you attach those wire covers onto the box? Its nice and clean no screw holes or little covers. Very nice!

It did a 145 on the old Term-pro meter. It is tuned just right. It is very musical (musical for 15"s! anyway!) The truck has FBSS air ride on nitrogen, complete custom upholstery with flames embossed in its pretty sick.

Yeah, those endcaps are a good idea, keeps it nice and tidy.I bet it bumps pretty good with those Crossfire subs, since that amp IS a BMF!
