Install Details
Installer:
Me

Equipment:
Pioneer DEH-P41 CD player, Polk Audio db650 6 1/2's (front stage), Eclipse SE8463A 4x6's (rear fill), Phoenix Gold Octane-R5.0:4 4 channel amp, Dayton Quatro QT210-4 8" sub in a .336 cu. ft. sealed box, KnuKonceptz wiring.

Description:
This install is only for my listening pleasure. It's as much about SQ as it can be but was done on a budget as well so it's not the best. I wanted it neat, clean, nice looking, and sounding well balanced, not overly bass dominant or lacking in bass either. I used quality equipment and cut no corners on anything I could think of. I think it turned out well. Take a look and see what you think. It's open for H2H, just for fun though, not seriously competing. No desire for a trophy.

This will be my last visit to this site. Looks as if spam has completely overrun it. I'll leave up my profile so anyone interested can view my install. As for me, I'm done with audio now. Have been for some time.

UPDATE - Check the last page of this profile for a recent picture of the truck to see how it has changed. The truck was a good one. I'll miss it.

UPDATE - The last three years I had this truck it saw A LOT of dirt. The audio gear held up amazingly to a rough life. Speaks to the product quality. Pioneer, Polk, and Eclipse.

UPDATE - Recently the truck was sold with the audio gear in it. The deck was 14 years old and still worked like new. The speakers still sounded good as well.

UPDATE - This truck was converted to a company work truck for a home improvements business I started about 4 years after this install. The sub and amp were sold to make room for tools behind the seat, but the speakers and deck were left in place.

Do you mean the blue one?? That's the main power wire and it looks that way because I put blue split loom around it to protect it and make it stand out more under the hood.

Nice clean setup, but i got to ask why does the wire look ridged does it have plastic over it or something?

Thanks. I was trying to be detailed with the descriptions of the pics. Sometimes I actually ran out of room to type and had to reword to fit it all in.

Ted, I considered those Polk's, and even considered using matching tweeters to just add to my coaxials for "sort of" a component set. Still thinking about my options though.

No photoshop, I did it all myself, with a little help cutting the wood for the box.

cont; swivel set up that sounds/works real well. Can get them for less than $150 on line since the new db6501's came out. I have a set in myPassport and my son's civic. Love 'em. L8R Ted

Read further down and have a sugestion for your front. You are running Polk db 650's now, right? Try the db6500 component set up. The mid will go where coaxial is now (bolt in) and the tweeter has a couple of mounting options including a flush mount swive

Gotcha in your H2H DC, down 3-2 now, but still early. L8R Ted
