Install Details
Installer:
Doug (Me)

Equipment:
Alpine 9886, Pioneer REV-series components, SoundStream XXX10000, (2) 18" Cascade-Designs Omegas, (2) D3100's in the rear, HC1400 upfront, Dual alternators (225+250 amp alts), 4 runs of power and 4 runs of ground 1/0 gauge to the rear, and tons of work.

Description:
Dual 18" Omega's in a 12.75 cubic foot net, 31Hz tuned enclosure with 200 sq inches of port area with approximately 2200+ real watts to each. The subs are firing forwards behind the seats with the port firing up into the rear window through the rear deck (which I cut out). With the subs brand-new and the trunk not sealed off from the cabin it pulled a 150.0 @ 41Hz (first ever metering for the setup)..it's got plenty more. Im very pleased with this setup and there's plenty more to come ; )

Still not finished, but getting there
The enclosure will have a panel made to flush the bottom to the floor and the sides will be flush and seal against the sides as well. Im really looking to get a 152 @ 40hz without upgrading equipment, we'll see : )

Still a lot of work to do though : ( and tons of deadening (damplifier pro) and also luxury liner pro will be used upfront to keep things nice. Plus the 3 other pairs of components I need to get in the car. Sundown amp(s) for the comps as well

Along with the amps will come another pair of D3100's and probably a good handful of smaller batteries from xs power to keep the electrical happy for ~9kw+ : ) Im looking for a 154ish @ 40hz...that's my goal

Looks like down the road a bit I'll be selling the XXX10k and going with a Sundown SAZ-4500 and once I have the money I'll be getting another 4500 and strap them @ 1ohm on a pair of 18" DC lvl 5's...things are going to get loud (once i have the cash)
Comment Posted By:  mtxfan421 on Jul 19,2009
yea, they image great and sound awesome! They stay clear and undistorted at very high levels as well

LOL what happened, did you smoke the BTL?
Comment Posted By:  Pioneer~Saturn on Jul 06,2009
You have to get very very loud to do that, lol. like well into 156+ db range at low frequencies.

yeah it would... i wanna break windows

Sounds good. A pair of SAZ3000's strapped @ 2 ohms on a pair of 15's would be quite a nice little setup : )

i looked at them they are very well made. since my car got totaled im getting a jeep grand cherokee. im thinking 1 18 or 2 15's with a couple sundown amps. time to upgrade, haha

Went to a buddy's to test a few days ago and got a 150.7 on the dash, car sealed up. More work to be done, Im really hoping to creep up on the 152 mark eventually

Theyre fantastic, if you want a loud daily sub that still sounds great...omega's are a must.
