I added pics of the enclosure. I covered it with carpet - doesn't look amazingly neat but it does the job.

Additional: Now there is no noise detectable from inside the car which is as good as I expect for now (for a peugeot!). A little NVH outside (when v loud) from the rear but nevermind.

Additionally the 69s were rattling and at first I thought they were damaged but I never noticed that they were pretty low power (80w rms) and just couldnt take it. Replaced with some more powerful ones. Sounds sick now like you wouldn't believe.

Hey Soda! Took your advice and enclosed the rear 69s. What a difference! The enclosure also allowed me to use angle brackets to mount that to the sub box for even more security. It's Solid now! Sounds TIGHT!

He's got a good point there.

If you get vibration from those mirrors on your doors, try a thicker neoprene or butylene based damping material like cascade. Nice install, though!

Also fiberglass pods work really well in this instance. if you don't know how. Email me and i write step by step instructions.

Yes it will improve your sound quality by giving more seperation between the sub and mid bass. Remember when the back of the 6x9 cone gets pressure from the sub it over extends= distortion.

Ahh gotcha - thanks for the tip dude. Might be hard to do space-wise! I'll open the boot and work out a plan of action later ;) - will it improve sound quality?

by the way i didn't mean to seperate the subwoofers from each other just the rear deck speakers.
Comment Posted By:  soda on Apr 21,2005
The reason i say to enclose the 6x9's on the rear deak is when the bass hits its puts pressure on the back of the cone causing them to over extend.

thanks for the comments guys. Didn't really think about having the boxes in their own enclosures as they are same size/brand but could modify the box quite easily from the inside. Added some more pics so you can get an idea of the level of dynamat

Kinda looks too extreme for that car. But nice install.

not to bad man, but you really should have those rear deck speakers in teir own enclosures.
